TRIAL OF PASSAGE
A collaborative project, combining design and programming skills implemented by a group of four game designers/programmers and the creative stylings of four game artists.

Trial of Passage takes place in a Steampunk world where the player must traverse through various "trials" that challenge the player in a platforming/puzzle/hack-and-slash game.
​
My role in the project began primarily as a level designer. This role expanded into Programmer very quickly as we planned for many mechanics that would require a significantly greater amount of time than we had if we were to complete the game in the time given.
​
Elements I worked on include many enemies, (such as the Boulder Enemies and the Turrets), the Dark Entity Boss, the MiniMap, the Trial of Turrets and Trial of Endurance levels, and much more.

DARK ENTITY
Originally conceptualized as our end game boss, the Dark Entity is a colossal being that rests at the end of the Trial Of Endurance level. This boss is designed to perform different attacks based on the player avatars' position in the battlefield.
​
With the addition of newer levels into the game throughout the games development, this boss was rebalanced to meet the criteria of a mid-game boss while still providing a challenging and fun experience.
