ESCAPE TYRANNY

Escape Tyranny was a solo project designed and created over the course of a single month during my time in University. The game was made with the intent of being able to design and implement various features in a steady-paced manner. Level Design, concept, and all assets were designed and created from scratch.


In Escape Tyranny, you are a peasant attempting to escape from the castle that has wrongly imprisoned you. You are known to be a peasant, so guards will not question your presence so long as you do not get too close to them. Because of your background, you know the layout of the castle and know where to go, but you must be aware that guards will navigate around the castle halls and you can find yourself cornered without notice.

A collaborative project, combining design and programming skills implemented by a group of four game designers/programmers and the creative stylings of four game artists.

Trial of Passage takes place in a Steampunk world where the player must traverse through various "trials" that challenge the player in a platforming/puzzle/hack-and-slash game.

SCRAPS

Another collaborative project, Scraps, a third-person post-apocalyptic game. This project tasked a team of designers with creating unique levels with previously implemented assets. Throughout the design process, I had to learn how to analyze level designs, starting from a foundational concept. Level pacing, game flow, player objectives and the importance of visuals were all focal aspects during the design and implementation of the level designed.
